In 1964, it was renamed Kwangwoon Institute of Information and Communication Technology, and in 1976, it officially became 'Kwangwoon University'. 1. Admission Method

Condition: Applicants must have graduated from high school or possess an equivalent academic background.

  1. Step 1: Receive application.
  2. Step 2: Review application.
  3. Step 3: Announce results and send tuition payment notice.
  4. Step 4: Pay tuition.
  5. Step 5: Issue admission letter.
  6. Step 6: Apply for D-4 Visa.
  7. Step 7: Enter Korea and take placement test.
  8. Step 8: Start classes.

2. Admission Application Documents

Kwangwoon University offers admissions for 4 semesters each year: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. Below is detailed information about the registration periods for each semester.

  • Spring Semester: Application start date: December 11, 2023 (Monday) - Application deadline: January 5, 2024 (Friday)
  • Summer Semester: Application start date: March 11, 2024 (Monday) - Application deadline: April 12, 2024 (Friday)
  • Fall Semester: Application start date: June 10, 2024 (Monday) - Application deadline: July 5, 2024 (Friday)
  • Winter Semester: Application start date: September 9, 2024 (Monday) - Application deadline: October 11, 2024 (Friday)

For Vietnamese applicants, the following additional documents may be required:

  • One scanned copy of the ORIGINAL family relationship certificate (household registration).
  • Documents proving financial sponsorship (one of the three types below):
    • If parents are employed: Social insurance certificate.
    • If parents are retired: Retirement certificate.
    • If the family is engaged in agriculture, fishery, or livestock: Land use registration certificate, livestock farming permit, or family business license.

IV. KOREAN LANGUAGE PROGRAM AT KWANGWOON UNIVERSITY

Kwangwoon University is one of the four brightest stars in Korean language training programs. The program includes 6 levels from beginner to advanced, scientifically designed and suitable for international students. The instructors are not only friendly and kind but also very attentive to the students.

Kwangwoon University also organizes cultural experience and excursion activities, such as: Everland amusement park, Korean History Museum, ice skating, and many other activities. Another plus is that the school always ensures the number of students in each class (10–15 students), enhancing interaction and learning effectiveness between teachers and students.

  • Graduated from high school or university within the past 2 years.
  • High school GPA or equivalent must be above 7.0/10 or 3.0/4.0.
  • TOPIK level 3 or higher for students entering a major program. For language students, no high-level Korean certificate is required.
